Collection: Soft Coral

Unlike stony corals, soft corals lack a hard, stony skeleton and instead, they have a flexible, fleshy structure composed of a protein called gorgonin. This flexibility allows them to sway with water currents, giving them a soft and delicate appearance. Unlike stony corals, which rely heavily on symbiotic algae for energy through photosynthesis, soft corals primarily rely on capturing planktonic organisms with their stinging tentacles for nutrition.
